High-Performance RCC for the Hibbett Sports Distribution Center
A.G. Peltz Group, LLC successfully mixed and placed over 62,000 square yards and 12,000 cubic yards of 7-inch Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) for the new Hibbett Sports Distribution Center near Alabaster, AL. RCC was chosen by the project owner as a cost-effective alternative to asphalt, delivering exceptional durability and long-term performance to meet the demands of this high-traffic facility.
The RCC pavement was placed in 30-foot-wide lanes with precise control joints cut both transversely and longitudinally at 15-foot intervals. This meticulous design ensures optimal load distribution and minimizes maintenance needs, making it an ideal solution for the distribution center’s operational requirements.
A.G. Peltz Group has field reviewed this project on a biennial basis. As of 2024, Hibbett had spent minimal to any maintenance expenditures on the RCC pavement at this facility. This project exemplifies the advantages of RCC in industrial applications, where strength, cost-efficiency, and minimal maintenance are critical factors. A.G.
