The Benefits of RCC Road Pavement
The American Concrete Pavement Association featured an article on the use of Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) on a recent project for the Alabama Department of Transportation. “RCC is the Right Choice for Busy Interstate Exchange” by Sheryl S. Jackson highlights how RCC provides the necessary structural strength for heavy traffic while lowering the maintenance costs. RCC was chosen due to its many benefits including: minimized digging, RCC does not rut when trucks and heavy traffic start and stop, and it has an extended length of life. Using RCC allowed ALDOT to complete construction in less time than conventional concrete and it is a potential solution for more road projects!
